Who is suitable for the profession of an optician master? Profession - optician. What future specialists are taught

The work of an optician-mechanic is the stages of preliminary and final assembly of such types of products as: cameras, microscopes, spectral instruments, instrumentation based on lenses and other optics. In the course of his activity, an optician-mechanic has to produce mechanical, mechanical-optical and optical elements, complex combined units and devices, and then deal with their adjustment.

The most difficult and responsible process for the owner of the specialty open source "optician-mechanic" is rolling, that is, the operation of mounting the lens in the provided frame.

At this stage, the master is required to be painstaking, precise in actions, sensitivity of fingertips and an eye.

These are the requirements that help the employee maintain the parameters specified in the drawing while working on the conveyor.

More often than others, the labor market requires:

  • medical opticians;
  • optics for working with elements of quantum devices;
  • optometrists;
  • master of optics.

What institutions train future opticians

To become a specialist and find one of these professions, you will have to think about your career in high school. Thus, you can decide in advance in which vocational institution to continue acquiring knowledge. Where to study opticians-mechanics, you can ask in one of the guides on universities and colleges, as well as on the Internet.

The following educational institutions produce future opticians:

  • Moscow radio-mechanical technical school;
  • St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution of Professional Education "Optical and Mechanical Lyceum";
  • St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics LITMO;
  • Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Technical School named after B.S. Galushchak;
  • Lytkarino Optical and Mechanical College in the town of Lytkarino, Moscow Region.

What future specialists are taught

Regardless of the chosen place of study, all students study the same subjects. They leave the walls of the college of optics-mechanics, having the same store of knowledge. From the first semester, future opticians are taught the following:

  • production of various parts from crystals and glass;
  • the ability to customize grinding and polishing units;
  • adjusting trusted equipment;
  • arrangement of the simplest parts of optical assemblies and devices with simultaneous adjustment of elements;
  • rolling of products;
  • drawing up technological maps for all stages of production;
  • methods of control and acceptance of defective products with prompt identification of the indicated defects in optical devices;
  • monitoring of the optical product for compliance with the specified parameters.

After passing the state examination, the newly minted specialists are assigned to enterprises and workshops, where the personnel department will put them in the work book with a stamp confirming that they are now: 200409.02 "Optics-mechanics".

What mechanics do during the working day

At the enterprise, the young specialist will be provided with the means of labor, which he must dispose of in full and the first weeks under the watchful supervision of a mentor.

The optician-mechanic will have at his disposal:

  • a set of optical and mechanical devices and control and adjustment devices;
  • workbench and rebar lathe;
  • a box with a set of necessary tools - templates, screwdrivers, calibers, micron indicators and more.

All this is needed for:

  • adjustment of sawing machines;
  • preparation of parts for future optical goods;
  • mechanical and locksmith processing of elements;
  • gluing and welding of units;
  • control and acceptance and transfer of products.

What functions does the controller perform?

Naturally, after graduation, future specialists face a specific problem - who to work with. Optical mechanics is a general specialty that includes several qualifications. Most often, the vector of the future profession tends to one side or the other after joining the enterprise.

The inspector of optical parts and devices performs the following duties:

Who are opticians

An optician is a simple and complex profession at the same time. In modern life, people are surrounded by a mass of various optical devices:

  • cameras;
  • film and television cameras;
  • telescopes;
  • binoculars;
  • microscopes;
  • rangefinders and similar devices.

In all these devices, the integral parts are prisms, lenses and mirrors, that is, optical systems or parts arranged in a certain order.

Before the glass becomes a lens or a prism of an optical device, it must undergo several operations that an optician performs:

  • peeling;
  • polishing;
  • centering;
  • enlightenment.

For this, the master has machines and machine tools, and the basis for certain actions are drawings or other technical documentation.

What is the responsibility of the operator of vacuum installations

The operator of vacuum installations for coating optical parts at the enterprise performs the following actions:

  • uses a thermal method for applying a reflective coating to elements fixed on racks of the same type of vacuum unit;
  • etches materials removed during evaporation, followed by washing and sending them for drying;
  • makes evaporators from tapes and wires;
  • cleans the inner surfaces of the chambers;
  • unloads finished products at the end of coating;
  • independently identifies defective products;
  • removes defective coating from parts returned after inspection;
  • packs complete parts.

You have decided to choose glasses or contact lenses. Should I go to an ophthalmologist or a medical optometrist?
Today, both ophthalmologists and medical opticians-optometrists are engaged in the selection of means for correcting vision. What's the difference?
The science of ophthalmology and the specialty of an ophthalmologist has been known since ancient times. Hippocrates and his students studied eye diseases, looking for the first methods of their treatment.
The science of optometry is much younger. The term "optometrist" was coined by Landolt in 1886. in the meaning of "glasses collector". Prior to that, in the 19th century, there was a division between "fabricators" and "refractive" (ie, those who fitted glasses) opticians. The latter later became known as optometrists (in our country, "Medical optometrist"). The first school of optometry was founded in 1850-1900 in the United States.

Optometry as a science and as a separate specialty is officially recognized:

  • in North America (Canada and USA);
  • in Latin America and some Caribbean countries;
  • in most English speaking countries, including the UK, Ireland and Australia;
  • in Europe, including Spain, Germany and France;
  • asia, including Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan;
  • in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Israel;
  • in Russia.

In our country, the history of the development of optometry as a separate medical specialty began at the end of the 20th century. In 1983, an order was issued by the USSR Ministry of Health "On the approval of the regulations on the optometry office and the paramedic (nurse) for optometry."
The history of optometry as a science in Russia is inextricably linked with the name of such an honored scientist as Yuri Zakharovich Rosenblum.
Since 1987, Yu.Z. Rosenblum headed the laboratory of ophthalmoergonomics and optometry at the Research Institute of Eye Diseases. Helmholtz. Together with prof. E.S. Avetisov, he created a new direction in ophthalmology - ophthalmoergonomics, which studies the role of vision in work. Closely related to this is the doctrine of optical vision correction - optometry. In these directions Yu.Z. Rosenblum was a leading specialist in our country. Monograph "Optometry" by Yu.Z. Rosemblum is a reference book for ophthalmologists and medical optometrists to this day.

So what is the difference between an ophthalmologist and a medical optometrist?

Based on the "Unified qualification reference book of positions of managers, specialists and employees" approved by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, the section "Qualification characteristics of positions of workers in the health sector", ophthalmologist (specialist with higher medical education) has the right to:

  • carry out a list of works and services for diagnosing a disease, assessing the patient's condition and clinical situation in accordance with the standard of medical care;
  • carry out a list of works and services for the treatment of a disease, condition, clinical situation in accordance with the standard of medical care;
  • to carry out an examination of temporary disability, to send patients with signs of persistent disability for examination for a medical and social examination;
  • to develop a scheme of postoperative patient management and prevention of postoperative complications;
  • draw up medical documentation;
  • analyze the incidence of disease at its site and develop measures to reduce it;
  • carry out medical examination and assess its effectiveness;
  • conducts sanitary and educational work, organize and control the work of nursing staff.

A medical optician-optometrist (a specialist with secondary medical education in the specialty "Medical optics") has the right:

  • carry out a study of the functions of vision of patients using modern ophthalmic diagnostic equipment;
  • check visual acuity, perimetry, refractometry, ophthalmometry, biomicroscopy, tonometry; explore binocular vision, determine the type and degree of ametropia, the presence of astigmatism;
  • diagnose the main signs of diseases of the organ of vision;
  • select means of vision correction, give individual recommendations for their care;
  • provide emergency medical care in case of acute diseases and damage to the organ of vision (including the removal of foreign bodies from the surface of the conjunctiva of the eye);
  • to conduct the reception of patients in the office of the first-aid appointment

Thus, both specialists can select glasses and contact lenses, however, if an ophthalmologist gains knowledge of optometry within the framework of his large surgical specialty, then a medical optometrist narrowly specializes in the selection of vision correction tools.
Both ophthalmologists and medical opticians-optometrists working in Ochkarik optics salons constantly improve their level of knowledge in optometry, periodically train with specialists from European schools (Germany, France), and participate in international conferences.

Binocular laboratory microscope

You, of course, have seen shops with a large sign "Optics"? It's great if you haven't looked there yet, then everything is in order with your vision. But your grandparents probably wear glasses. And medical opticians make lenses for them. Today this profession is one of the most popular, albeit rare.

Opticians make more than just eyeglass lenses. Optical details are very important and needed for a huge number of instruments: astronomical, measuring, navigation. As well as photo and film equipment.

The simplest optical lenses appeared in ancient Egypt and China. In those days, they were made from topaz and emeralds. In the 13th century, the manufacture of mirrors and glasses began, and in the 16th telescopes, microscopes and telescopes appeared.

Time has passed, but the work of an optician cannot be replaced by any mechanisms. The optician needs good eyesight and dexterous hands, and his movements must be precise and smooth.

At the beginning of work, the optician receives optical glass from glass factories in the form of blanks. They are as close as possible to the shapes of optical parts (lenses, mirrors, prisms). But they are made a little more than required, with allowances. Removing allowances by means of grinding, roughing, polishing, the master gives the details the desired shape, specified dimensions and quality.

A specialist has to deal with a mass of tools and devices. One must be able to tune them to certain modes. In this profession, one must be able to perfectly read drawings, memorize shades of color, the shape of parts. Accuracy, observation and concentration are very important. Even the smallest scratch or speck on the glass can spoil the part and in most cases such a defect cannot be corrected.

Working with micro-optics is especially difficult. Some of the lenses are so small that they work under a microscope. The precision of processing parts is calculated here in thousandths of a millimeter, so the master must be extremely careful. In the practice of specialists, special orders are often found, so the master must show creative and creative skills.

You can get the specialty of a medical optician in our country in special colleges. At the beginning of training, it is mandatory to study the basics of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Students learn to diagnose diseases of the organs of vision and correct their disorders using optical parts. They learn to make modern contact and spectacle lenses and frames. And since, unfortunately, every year more and more people and children suffer from visual impairment, medical opticians will definitely not be left without work.
