This is a secret movement that originated in the 18th century. Freemasons have their own symbolism and rituals. The literal translation of this name is "freemason". Freemasonry exists in the form of lodges - groups of up to 50 people, united territorially. The very theme of "free masons" is still interested in philosophers, historians, cultural scientists, and even ordinary people. Someone is interested in the symbolism of the Masons, someone - the degree of their influence, someone trying to understand which of the great people was included in the lodges and how religious this association. Masonic lodges traditionally included the most influential people, and the halo of mystery around the union gave abundant soil to the myths, some of which are described in detail below.

The whole world is ruled by a secret Masonic organization. This myth has been around for several centuries. Soon after the appearance of the Freemasons, rumors began to circulate that they were the true rulers of the states. However, this is what Beletsky wrote to the Minister of Internal Affairs in March 1916: “In Russia, figures of extreme right-wing organizations are mainly engaged in Freemasonry. I read their works and didn’t know what was the most amazing thing about their absolute unfamiliarity with the subject matter, or they present speculations to the Russian public, drawn from the most absurd works of French blackmailer writers ... Now masons are not at all concerned about war, but about protecting the rights of free trade in alcoholic beverages and protecting the interests of Kabat Ikov from the tyranny of the military authorities. For them it is a matter of life or death ... Modern Freemasonry is more like a social club in which people communicate, discuss problems, make appointments. Modern society is quite a complex structure to manage it with the help of medieval systems.

Freemasonry is the same religion. Often in the consciousness of Freemasonry appears as a specific kind of religion, even a certain Masonic church is mentioned. Although for some it is not a church, but a sect, and also, by the way, Pope Clement XII believed. Religion requires faith in God, and Freemasonry requires candidates to believe in the Great Architect of the Universe, without specifying this concept. The "free masons" themselves interpret their organization as a secret union, which is higher than parties, religions, nationalities, etc. Freemasonry, unlike religion, does not imply the maintenance of a particular way of life outside the box. Reading their prayers is not an attempt to interact with God, there is no concept of cult and sacrifice. Religion is based on mystical experience, and Freemasonry does not say anything about it, does not promise improvements in life for observing rituals. Freemasons believe that a person must certainly evolve spiritually, but everyone chooses the place and methods of searching for intimate answers. Most Masons do not accept atheism. Interestingly, you can not combine the two religions, but to be a freemason and a Christian is quite possible. Most American Masons are just Christians. Incidentally, Freemasons include leaders of Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists, and other churches. The Masonic bishops themselves say that their activity in the boxes does not interfere with the church at all. An important difference from the church is that there is no spiritual hierarchy in Freemasonry. There is a ladder of steps, however the owner of the 33rd step is not higher than the ordinary member. There is a line of subordination related to system posts, but it is constantly changing. So the owner of a lower degree, being the head of a lodge, may well direct a master of a higher degree. Thus, Freemasonry includes certain parts of religion and sects, but in reality they are not - spiritual life, partial faith in the afterlife, mystical values. This is due to the fact that, after all, the masons' lodges do not separate themselves from conventional religions.

Masons worship the devil. Such a myth is constantly fueled by anti-mason sources. Recently, sect of Satanists, usually consisting of adolescents who are not so much looking for secret knowledge, as they manifest themselves in a state of alcohol or drug intoxication, are increasingly in sight. So is there something in common between them and respectable people? According to the semi-legendary history, Freemasonry traces its history to the Templars, who were originally military monks who defended pilgrims. Over time, the order has grown, becoming the order of large landowners, bankers, diplomats and scholars. Over time, by the way, the order began to conduct its secret diplomatic activities, while even having ties with the assassins, colleagues from the East. Under their patronage in construction, the guild of freemasons was born. However, in 1307, the Order was crushed by King Philip IV, who did not want to share his power. On the courts of the Inquisition under torture and there was evidence of the secret worship of knights idol Baphomet. But it is still not clear what the word itself means; no object of worship of the Templars has been found. Freemasonry in a form similar to the modern one appeared at the beginning of the 18th century, but there was no mention of its connection with the devil, and it is not surprising, since representatives of English nobility were in the box. But the stories about the worship of Freemasons Satan arose in the 19th century in France, and this was due to the decline of interest in the Catholic Church in connection with the development of science. Therefore, a real enemy was needed, and the talk about the conspiracy of the Jews had long been bored by everyone. The masons themselves, as already mentioned, believed in the Great Architect, without specifying it in any way. To believe that major political and public figures saw in him exclusively Satan is difficult. Interestingly, the word Lucifer was actually present in the Masonic rites, but it meant only a deity that gives light. This concept appeared in the peak of the church, the rumor about this quickly multiplied by the church, and therefore a new concept was introduced instead of it - Prometheus. The essence has not changed, but there is no longer any connection with Satan. Today, in general, rituals use the wording "the giver of light" in order to avoid interpretations. By the way, it is worth noting that the origins of the Masonic rituals largely lie in the Old and New Testaments and other holy books, so that, accusing the masons of Satanism, all believers can be blamed with equal success for this sin.

Masons help each other, like mafia clans. Opponents argue that, entering into the box, a person gives an oath to obey only his brothers in the order, who may well use a person at their discretion. After all, for a mason there is no fatherland, his homeland is the whole world. By the way, what's surprising is that people generally help each other? Can't you blame people just for the opportunity and desire to help? It is interesting how these aid mechanisms are implemented. If in the Middle Ages secret signs and whole rituals of their exchange were developed, then nowadays the mason goes abroad, being supplied with a special passport or certificate. But a similar system exists in other international organizations. If Freemasonry is perceived as a corrupting element for the life of a country, then it is strange that the states where the masons are most influential are rich enough. If we assume that there is some kind of struggle, including against Russia, then why for so many centuries there has been no success from the activities of this "powerful" organization? I must say that in the West since the beginning of the XIX century there were lodges that just set themselves the goal of helping their members. Inside the organization, only everyday affairs were discussed, the fraternity itself had distinctive signs and solemn rituals. Subsequently, due to their activities, modern trade unions appeared. For example, the Order of the Knights of the Maccabees included up to 200,000 members, its members wore a magnificent shape, reminiscent of the costumes of Freemasons and Templars. Over time, the order has become a regular insurance company. You can recall the Knights of Pythaeus, the Order of Labor and many others. So how did the masons differ from them? Only by the presence of a semi-mystic component? Already since the 18th century, mutual aid structures have been formed in the West, it is not surprising that such a phenomenon also appeared in the masonic lodges. Perhaps the success of Western civilization is due to the fact that a person in trouble was given a second chance.

It was the masons who kindled the revolution. First of all, the role of the Freemasons in stirring up the Great French Revolution is mentioned. The emergence of this myth is associated with the place of imprisonment of Louis XVI - the castle Templó where the leadership of the ancient order of the Templars once housed. From there, the king was taken to execution, as five centuries before that they were taken to execution by Jacques de Molay, the last grandmaster of the order. The circle seemed to close. Rumor has it that during the execution, someone watered his hands with the blood of the king and exclaimed: "Jacques de Molay you are avenged!". It’s just not clear if the revolutions were carried out by the Freemasons, being descendants of the Templars, then why did they suffer because of the events? If before the revolution in Paris there were 67 lodges, then during it there were only 3. The fact is that in French Freemasonry most of them were aristocrats who did not need social upheavals. Of course, some of them followed new ideas, but many people paid with their lives. Interestingly, Freemasonry traditionally shuns politics, in the lodges talking on this topic is prohibited. A prominent Russian Freemason, Baron Reichel, wrote: "Any freemasonry that has political forms is false; and if you notice at least a shadow of political forms, connections and dissolution of the words of equality and liberty, then read it as false." Consider the events of the Russian revolution of 1917. It is alleged that almost the entire composition of the Provisional Government consisted of masons. However, in fact, only Kerensky, Nekrasov and Konovalov in the first composition were members of the masons' box. Nekrasov himself later wrote about the role of Freemasonry in the February events: "... I will say right away that hopes for him turned out to be extremely premature, so powerful mass forces, especially mobilized by the Bolsheviks, entered the business that a handful of intellectuals could not play a big role and collapsed under the influence of the collision classes. " The October Revolution was organized by the Bolsheviks, who themselves, being representatives of the intelligentsia, expressed the interests of the poorest strata. So, the absolute majority of the leaders of the Bolsheviks had no ties with the Freemasons. They mention Trotsky’s interest in Freemasonry, but the revolutionary’s works on this subject are irretrievably lost. The masons participated in both the American revolutions and the Decembrist uprising, but it is impossible to confirm that it is they who incite revolutions.

Freemasonry appeared in Russia with Peter I.  First of all, Freemasonry is a secret order, so the whole truth about it will not work, especially since it is hidden at the depth of ages. If we talk about operational Freemasonry, which included the builders and architects themselves, then it turned out in our country in 1040, along with Anthony the Roman, who, curiously as legend has it, sailed on stone. When Freemasonry implies penetration into Russia, they mean operational Freemasonry, which is not directly connected with construction. Allegedly, after visiting London in 1698, Peter I was taken to the lodge by the Englishman Christopher Wren. The president of the box was Jacob Bruce, and Peter himself was the second officer. According to another version, the president was Lefort.
However, according to official sources, the history of Freemasonry in Russia dates back to 1731, when Captain John Phillips was approved by the Grand Provincial Master of Russia. And already in 1740, the Englishman Kate, who had become quite Russianized by that time, became the Master. The first Russian lodge, dubbed the “Silence” was formed in St. Petersburg in 1750, the development of Freemasonry was spurred by Catherine the Great’s interest in it, but not for long. However, there are ambiguities. The fact is that the establishment of the Great Lodge in 1731 implied the existence of at least three provincial by that time, otherwise what was united? In addition, it is logical to assume, knowing the structure of the lodge, that the number of masters at that time should be at least 100. So, nevertheless, the counting is conducted from Peter? Scientists tried to find some documents about how Peter joined the order, but found nothing. Of course, perhaps the papers were simply destroyed by the Nazis, who were known as ardent fighters against the Freemasons, and the archives themselves were rather closed and tangled. However, Peter often traveled incognito and could easily enter the box under a fictitious name, for example, Alekseev. The following reasoning speaks in favor of the version of Peter the Mason. The king was looking for technical achievements, trying to attract scientists and engineers to Russia. And, being a freemason, and not just a rich savage, he could take advantage of connections among brothers to achieve a goal. Apparently, Peter, has reached the desired. Also important is the position of the Second Officer - she was just suitable for a royal person who did not want to burden herself with management also with a lodge. At the same place, Peter could well play a weighty role, without falling into the routine troubles of organizational work. So the version about the Second Officer gives a strange authenticity to the myth. Interesting in this regard is the history of the creation of the monument to Peter the Bronze Horseman. The fact is that the sculptor Falcone insisted that the horse stand on a stone, citing the fact that Peter means "stone." A huge stone was carried from afar, and on the way sculptures suddenly decided to trim a stone. It is curious that the stone is one of the symbols of Freemasonry, it would be symbolic to put the first Russian mason on the stone. But the finishing of the stone indicates that the soul of the person who entered the box has already been processed, but the unpolished stone would say that the person is just preparing to join the ranks of masons, his soul is still unbridled. Many would like to see more obvious symbols of Freemasonry on the monument. For example, George Washington stands with a trowel and in an apron near the Masonic altar. Where is more obvious? But it would be naive to put the king on a horse to dress up in an apron, but the gesture of his right hand unequivocally speaks of the sign with which the box is opened. Mozart entered the Masonic Lodge, his own brothers killed him. The last completed work of the composer was a cantata dedicated to the consecration of the new Masonic church. Mozart himself was a member of the Crowned Hope lodge, and an active one. At a time when the composer was short of money, it was the brothers who helped him, giving him the opportunity to earn some money for the concertmaster. There are also many versions of the composer’s death, including freemasons. According to one of the versions of Mozart, after composing the opera "The Magic Flute", which tells about the struggle of Christianity and Freemasonry, thought about the real values ​​and decided to organize his own box, "The Cave". The Masons did not like the idea of ​​creating a rival organization, and with the help of Mozart’s friend, Stadler, they poisoned the composer. Against this version, one can argue that Stadler was quite close to Mozart, he even composed a concerto for clarinet and orchestra for him, putting aside Requiem, which is important for himself. According to another version, the composer was sacrificed by masons, as in the Magic Flute he revealed the secrets of their rites. The requiem was ordered to Mozart precisely by the Freemasons, as if the news that he was chosen by the victim. However, common sense suggests that Mozart wrote only music, and the libretto, that is, directly the text was written by another mason - Schikaneder, who in turn borrowed the plot from the German Wieland. Interestingly, neither one nor the other suffered from the masons, although they were involved in the disclosure of the secrets of society. And the reasons for the death of the composer are unclear. On November 8, 1791, Mozart conducts at the opening of the temple, and after 2 days he becomes ill, with the result that on December 5 he dies. Assumptions about the causes of death of more than a dozen, poisoning at the hands of Salieri, only the most famous of them. The circumstances surrounding the death of Mozart suggest that he was poisoned by mercury, but by whom? An interesting version is that the composer could have been killed with the tacit consent of the authorities for his relationship with Freemasonry, which, with its free ideas, and even against the background of the French Revolution, shattered state foundations. In general, we can say for sure that the masons played a significant role in the life of Wolfgang Amadeus, and he actively communicated with them, but the exact reasons for the death of Mozart, the motives for his poisoning (and whether it is poisoning?), Historians still can not establish.

"Protocols of the Elders of Zion" expose the masons. Freemasonry itself appeared relatively recently, for the first time in the box a person who was not associated with construction was adopted in 1600, but talk of a Masonic conspiracy appeared only 200 years later. It turns out for two centuries, no one guessed about the conspiracy? It is believed that the French Revolution was the result of a conspiracy of masons to take revenge on the French kings for the dispersal of the Templars. The first Jews appeared in Masonic lodges only in the middle of the 18th century, and during the 19th century a theory of the Jewish-Masonic conspiracy began to form in the public consciousness. At the end of the same century, this story, having fully formed, due to rumors, the corresponding literary books on this subject, came to Russia. The theory says that even under Solomon, the Jewish sages conspired against all of humanity, but the protocols were naturally stolen, falling into the hands of the world community. However, the very origin of the texts is very strange. First, they are written in French, and secondly, Solomon is supposed to plan to destroy Christianity, seize industry and mine cities. The author did not bother to compare the texts with the vocabulary and worldview of the then Jews. But the style of the Protocols is very reminiscent of the novel Hedsche "Biaritsts". The terminology of Freemasonry used in the documents immediately alerted the authorities, who decided that there was a close relationship between the Jews and the Freemasons. The Freemasons really relied on the Old Testament, but in their present form they were a completely Christian institution, so talk of the Jewish masonry can be explained only by the paranoia of those who are looking for conspiracies everywhere. Interestingly, when in 1903 the writer Nilus presented the Protocols to Nicholas II as evidence of a conspiracy, the king said that it was a fake, destroyed the document, and drove away the slander. However, over time, the government had to return to the documents, examining the possibility of their use against the Jewish revolutionaries. The conclusion of the commission under the leadership of Stolypin was unequivocal - fake! Subsequently, despite the decision of the Bern court to falsify the document, the Protocols were used by the fascists in their propaganda.

There is a Masonic order "Skull and Bones", which includes American presidents. At the end of the 20th century, a scandal erupted when it became known that George Bush, Sr., and before him other US presidents, was part of the secret society "Skull and Bones." Immediately drew a frivolous name, more suitable for a children's circle, rather than a community of influential people. It turned out that "Skull and Bones" - just one of the many student fraternities of Yale University. The university itself appeared in 1801, and the fraternity appeared in 1832 in the likeness of German student associations. The name of the order, as well as its emblem, appeared much later, by the way "Skull and Bones" - this is quite an official organization, which even has a bank account. In total, the order in more than a century and a half was no more than 800 people. The first Jew appeared there only in 1968. Very little is known about the rituals of the order, due to the closeness of the organization. There are indeed three presidents, bankers, cultural figures, lawyers among the club’s people. But this is simply explained - children of the elite are traditionally trained at Yale, it is not surprising that they subsequently make a good career. One can hardly assume that the “Skull and the bones” are ruled by the USA, since the student society is mainly engaged in the entertainment of the members themselves, sometimes indulging in digging up bones. Of course, brothers in society help each other, but this custom is also inherent in other student associations. Usually, university management is usually neutral towards such associations, although many are unkindly - because instead of studying, students are engaged in outside affairs. After studying the rituals of brotherhoods, it can be assumed that his entourage "Skull and Bones" was largely borrowed from the German Masonic Order of the Black Brothers. But here it is impossible to consider the “Skull and Bones” as a Masonic organization. The American brotherhood only copied the German, which, in turn, copied the masonic orders. If we talk about the secret societies that rule the country, then why not recall the "Bohemian Grove" which includes the richest people in the United States, and membership costs $ 12,000 a year. Although talk about business in the club is prohibited, and rituals, including those based on masonic ones, are increasingly parody and comic. By the way, in the former USSR student associations quite successfully existed, many of which have successfully implemented themselves in KVN.

The policy of Israel and the United States is determined by the masons. It is believed that the United States was created by Freemasons on the basis of Masonic principles. Allegedly everywhere in the symbolism is the number 13, which is the symbol of Satan. However, the concept of "the 13 tribe of Israel," which are considered masons, simply does not exist. And the number 13 in Kabbalah itself is considered favorable. They say that the width of bills in the US is 66.6 millimeters, but in fact it is 0.4 mm narrower. But let's see how much freemasonry influences US policy. One of the fathers of the American state is Benjamin Franklin, who really was a freemason. This organization also included George Washington. All the 15 great generals of the War of Independence were Freemasons, it is not surprising that the first presidents were members of the lodges. The most Masonic president was Harry Truman, who passed all the degrees of several statutes, was the leader of the Red Cross of Constantine, one of the inter-masonian orders. Bush was also a Freemason, but his son did not enter the box, saying that he did not understand the need for such an act. Clinton is also not a full-fledged freemason. Consider the structure of Freemasonry in the United States. Each state has its own Great Lodge, while they do not obey each other. Sometimes boards are convened that resolve common differences. So it is impossible for a lodge of a certain state to influence the general American government and even more so on world politics. Usually, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bildelberg Club are called the instruments of influence of Freemasonry on world politics. The Council on Foreign Relations was founded in 1921 and is currently funded by large corporations. It includes about 4,200 members who, behind closed doors, develop the concept of state foreign policy. There is nothing masonic about it; moreover, it has become known that Madeleine Albright is a member of the Council, and a woman cannot be present at all in Masonic structures at all! The trilateral commission brings together representatives of the United States, Europe and Asia (represented by Japan and South Korea). The organization includes the largest bankers and industrialists, its purpose is to discuss world problems. But what can be masons in Japan? The Bilderberg club appeared in 1954, uniting the European and American political and economic elite. Although the meetings are held in secrecy, it is impossible to completely conceal the concentration in one place of so many large buds, therefore the world community always follows the club with interest. In fact, this organization is not an executive board, each decision later still goes through the G8 meetings, through the IMF or the world bank. To assert that the Bilderberg club is built like a lodge is ridiculous, since its structure absolutely does not coincide with the Masonic one. Regarding Israel, it can be said that Freemasonry in this country arose only at the end of the 19th century; today it is recognized only in the English Lodge. Today there are no more than three thousand masons in Israel, and only half of them are active, and besides, none of the prominent politicians in the lodges have been noted. Local "masons" do not participate in politics and have no influence on either the external or the internal course of the state. It is interesting that in Latin American politics, as in the United States, many politicians are members of Masonic lodges, but even there secret organizations play no role in the political life of the country.

A century ago, few would have thought that a secret society under a peaceful name " Freemasons"will determine the main political and economic events in the world. The Russian meaning of the name of this organization corresponds to the word" masons ", legends about which have even penetrated into the cinema.

The worldview of modern man is shaped to a large extent by the mass media. It is from there that we take the lion's share of information about what is happening in the world and around us. The existing secret societies today hardly represent a single system, but it can be said with confidence that the core of the secret world government is Freemasonry, or more precisely, its top is the Illuminati.

It can only be noted that the most common version of their origin speaks of their 200-year history (although the name “Illuminati” is found already in the XIV century). According to this view, the founder of the modern Illuminati is Adam Weishaupt, who united the teachings of Freemasonry with the teachings and rites of other secret societies (in particular: Assassins, Templar, Priory of Zion). As for the Freemasonry, which is the basis of the Illuminati, today there is also no consensus about its origin. There are a number of legends, and, according to the most common of them, the emergence of Freemasonry dates back to the times of King Solomon, who entrusted the architect Hiram with management and guidance for the construction of the temple in Jerusalem (the legend of Adoniram).

The workers were divided into three classes by this great architect, and so that they could recognize each other, words, signs and special touches were established. From here, in the opinion of the masons, comes the establishment of the degrees (degrees) of masonry and the special symbolic language of the masons' brothers.

Another legend says that Freemasonry is the legacy of the scholars and priests of Chaldea, India, and Egypt, who thus spread their teachings.

The third legend asserts that Freemasonry comes from the Order of the Templars (knights templar), banned in 1312 and subsequently defeated by French King Philip IV and Pope Clement V for "Satanism, defaming Christianity and greed".

As said above, the word “mason” means “freemason”. Initially, these people really had to do with architecture, but in the future, the ranks of the Freemasons were not filled with builders. The real meaning of this name has a symbolic meaning. Spiritual knowledge in Freemasonry was expressed through symbolism, allegories and rituals (Masonic handshake, pyramid, pentagram, the use of 3, 7, 13, 33 in the emblems). Helsing in his work notes that Freemasonry is one of the oldest organizations currently in existence. Papyrus scrolls, found in 1888 during excavations of the Libyan desert, describe their secret encounters as far back as 2000 BC. The “free masons” proclaimed the purpose of their movement as a journey through the steps of spiritual perfection (according to the generally accepted opinion, there are only 33 steps), with respectful fear experienced by the deity. This god in Freemasonry is called the “Great Architect”. Who is this god?

According to the research of the English journalist Knight, modern Freemasonry is divided into levels containing a number of steps. Masons of the lowest levels can be people of various convictions and religions, often very respected people (at one time even Alexander Pushkin visited the Freemasons). The main condition here is the belief in the ideals declared by the fraternity of “free masons”. Who does not know the slogan “Freedom, equality, fraternity”? However, only masons who belong to the highest levels of initiation know the true goals and objectives of the brotherhood. Knight managed to find out the name of the god honored as the “Great Architect”, but he paid for it with his life.

In the fourteenth century, for the first time, the highest initiation of the secret society of the “Serpent Brotherhood” under the Latin name “Illuminati” (Latin “illuminare” - “to enlighten”) occurs. According to V. Cooper: “The Serpent Brotherhood devotes its activities to the preservation of the“ secrets of generations ”and the recognition of Lucifer as the one and only God.” The same Lucifer (literal meaning "luminous"), a fallen cherub, expelled from Heaven and became Satan.
